NEW! The CEMC’s summer course for high school students

Registration is now open for our new online summer course in mathematical problem-solving that is available to high school students around the world. The course will be offered asynchronously from June 27 to August 12, 2022.

The goal of this course is to develop students’ mathematical problem-solving ability through a wide range of challenging problems. Problem-solving techniques such as trying a simpler problem, considering cases, finding a pattern, and working backward, will be explored through a series of self-guided videos.

This course is most appropriate for high school students who have completed at least Grade 11 university stream mathematics and will be particularly valuable for students who are considering studying mathematics, computer science, engineering, or the physical sciences in university.

Students are assessed through weekly quizzes and assignments and can connect with course instructors and peers through online discussion boards. A certificate will be awarded to students upon successful completion of the course.

The cost to enrol is $250 (Canadian dollars) per student. Registration will close on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, or sooner if the enrolment limit has been reached.

Please share this information with fellow teachers and if you know any students that would benefit from participating in this course, consider encouraging them to register.
