The Summer Conference for Computer Studies Educators hosted by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) provides resources for educators to implement the computer science and computer engineering curriculum in their classrooms. Every August, participants spend three days networking with other educators, learning new skills and brainstorming classroom activity ideas.
This three-day residential conference is designed for high school computer studies educators. However, interested elementary school educators are welcome to attend.
The conference will be held in person at the University of Waterloo.
Participants arrive on campus on Tuesday, August 15 in the morning and can depart after lunch on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Program details with session information will be updated in April 2023.
Registration will open early May and end early July.
Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect that we will have enough room for anyone who wants to participate in the 2023 Summer Conference for Computer Studies Educators, but to be ensured a spot, it is best to register early. Every participant is required to submit a shared resource related to curriculum upon registration.
The registration fee is $250 for each participant. This includes any applicable taxes, meals and accommodation.
